Click with the secondary mouse button the My Computer icon, and select Properties from the pop-up menu.

At the System Properties window, select the Hardware tab.

Click the Device Manager button.

Click Modem, then double-click the driver already listed.

At the Modem Properties window, select the Driver tab.

Click the Update Driver button, the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard will appear, click the Next button.

Select Search for a suitable driver for my device (recommended) and click Next.

At the following window, select Specify a location, uncheck the other options, and click Next.

Enter the location of the temporary folder¹ to which the files were unpacked and click OK.

When prompted, check Install one of the other drivers before clicking Next.

Select 3Com Mini PC

I 56K Modem and click Next.

Click Finish at the next window.

Close the Modem Properties window by clicking Close.

Restart your computer
