This Light-On CD driver has been found to function well with every Read-Only ATA/IDE/ATAPI drive tested.
In all cases it has been found to be measurably faster than the OEM drivers that accompanied the drives. This may be because there is no microcode that checks for the "correct" drive, not allowing you to use it with another brand. I don't know or care why, just that it works, every time. It did NOT work with several CD writers/re-writers tested. Enjoy
