This is a no frills Windows ME boot disk used to enable just about any 4x or faster ide cd-type drive in DOS MODE. If you have NO Windows os installed and running, you cannot use this file to create the floppy disk since it's create with a program called WinImage. In other words this program will not launch and run from DOS... you must have Windows 95 or higher running to create this boot disk. So after downloading this file, double-click this download file (on a machine running Windows...any version from 95 up.. and have a blank formatted floppy disk in drive a:

Disk image will be written, then take this disk to the pc needing booted with cd rom support. Restart the pc with floppy disk inserted... make sure your pc bios is set to boot from floppy first... when pc is booted, your id

e cd-rom drive should work and be assigned D: letter (if you only have a single hard drive in pc). If you have 2 hard drives installed, the cd rom drive letter will be E:

This will enable the drive thereby allowing you to install Windows 9x or Windows ME os.
