Please follow steps below to update the acer.inf file for Windows95/98/2000/ME.

Download and extract the "zip" file of your monitor.

Activate Windows95/98/2000/ME.

Click "Start" and select "Settings/Control panel".

Click icon "Display".

Select "Setting".

Click the button "Change Display Type" or "Advanced Properties".

Click the button "Change" in monitor type item.

Follow Windows wizard to select a right file path of the setup files (.inf, .icm and .cat)

Click Next button

Windows95/98/2000/ME will select a correct name automatically for your monitor.

Click Fin

Note:

Above procedure may be changed by different version of Windows system. Please follow Windows wizard and make right selection.

The file (.cat) may not be provided for some BenQ monitors but it will not have any problem for monitor setup. Please just click "Skip" when Windows wizard shows warning message for that.

When you finished monitor setup, you can adjust a suitable refresh rate by setting VGA adapter which please refer to your VGA adapter installation guide in advance. The "OTHERS" driver files do not include CAT file. When you install the drivers for WIN-98/2000/ME/XP, you can choose SKIP in the section of CAT file installation to complete the monitor driver installation. It will NOT cause any problem on your monitor.
