This driver from National Semiconductor resolves
issues with freezing and restarting of Windows XP during heavy traffic. It works much better then driver installed by Windows XP setup CD (dated 2001) or NetGear V1.8 for Windows 2000 they offer on their website. Unzip to a directory and point to it when updating the driver from system hardware device manager.
