Promise Technology Chip: PDC20262 Free Driver Download

"PCI Mass Storage Controller" driver for Dell Dimension XPS T___, which has a Promise Ultra66 ATA card using a PDC20262 chip. I finally found this driver on my Dell Resource CD after many hours of searching, after discovering these instructions on the Dell site in at document number RG1022753: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kb/en/document?dn=1022753&c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19

I am running Windows98SE. I don't know if this driver works for other OS versions.

I needed this driver because I did a clean reinstall of Windows 98SE after reformatting my hard drive, and the computer kept complaining about a driver missing for "PCI Mass Storage Controller".

TO INSTALL: Unzip this file, then in Device Manager, select: PCI Mass

Storage Controller --> Driver --> Update Driver --> Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location --> Have disk, etc. to browse to whereever you unzipped the files.
