Ok, this was a tough nut to crack. If you have the serial port version of the HP ScanJet 4s and can't get the paperport software to find the scanner, download the Visioneer Twain Drivers from above this list, then download this updated PPORT.DRV file and replace it with the one that gets installed with the Visioneer TWAIN driver mentioned above. You may have to Exit Windows and do this from DOS. Then VIOLA! Everything works like it should. Just go to Start, Programs, Accessories and click on IMAGING and use that to scan from now on.
