Zoom Internal 56K LT SpeakerPhone Faxmodem

This modem is supposed to be a HARDWARE modem that will work in any OS, but I can only get it to work in win98, and I bought it so that I could use in DOS also. The file I uploaded is what came with the modem on a floppy, it must be unpacked on a windoze machine, it will give you a readme.txt file and also a file called flash4.exe to flash the modems firmware. I did everything as explained, but there is just no way I can get this modem to work in DOS, although it is a TERRIFIC modem in win98, and I can tell it MUST be a hardware modem because I can tell my CPU is no longer burdened the way it was with my other modem (a motorola SM-56 winmodem), my computer is a P-166 mmx w/ 32 megs RAM and the SM-56 really dragged the CPU down and slowed everything down, disconnected and crashed often. s modem, however, is rock solid in win98. I can't seem to find ANYTHING about how to get this modem, which uses a venus lucent chipset, to work in DOS or Linux, the main reason I bought it.
